Resume Tips

  • Print on professional resume paper in a white or ivory color.
  • Customize your resume to the desired position, prominently highlighting your relevant job duties.
  • Limit your resume to one page.
  • Begin your resume with your most recent work experience and include other work experience in reverse chronological order.
  • Use bullet points to describe your job duties. Be concise, yet make sure that you communicate all of your relevant responsibilities.
  • List dates of employment with just the month and year, instead of the exact dates.
  • Summarize your computer skills, including the hardware, software, and databases in which you are proficient.
  • Spell check your resume and then proofread carefully.
